The Awakening, by Kate Chopin, recounts to one womanââ¬â¢s story of her endeavor to stir to her actual needs and wants for her life. When Edna Pontellier spends the mid year on Grand Isle, she starts to think past the job of spouse and mother that she has played up until now. She starts to consider herself a different individual with autonomous musings and sentiments. Her change is troublesome and she experiences incredible difficulty choosing what she truly needs throughout everyday life. Edna endeavors to dispose of the entirety of the customary estimations of her life to discover her autonomy.
